Welcome to Innovation in Recreation

Who We Are...

Innovation in Recreation was actualized in 1989 with the primary intent and purpose of consulting with Activity Coordinators in Skilled Nursing Facilities. Since that time and in addition to our ongoing consultation, the business has grown from one to four Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, and now we enthusiastically:

  • Consult with Activity Staff in Skilled, Assisted Living and Residential Care Facilities.
  • Offer orientation and training to new persons entering the field of recreation in the health care setting.
  • Specialize in a variety of areas to include both group and individualized therapeutic recreation programming, programming for special care units, volunteerism, documentation and care planning, and regulation compliance.
  • Strive to meet the recreational needs of all individuals to enhance their intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
  • Present workshops and in-services on both a small and large scale, on a wide variety of topics and to more diversified audiences.
  • Develop and distribute supportive products that enhance activity programming.
